Chishaku-in, the head temple of the Shingon sect was brought and reconstructed at the current site in 1598. The garden of Chinese inspiration was probably designed by the famous tea ceremony master Sen no Rikyu. The garden is composed of a pond and a “tsukiyama”, artificial hillock in front of the Main Hall, with some bridges and a waterfall.
